Hi. I'm Joelle.
I'm a wedding planner and writer, originally from Orange County but living in Ventura, California with my husband and our dog. I like to write about my life here on this little blog sometimes, and what it's like to own a business. But you'll also find (I hope) lots of inspiration and other pretty things.

I graduated with a degree in Political Science from California Lutheran University, with the intention of going to law school. I even took the LSAT twice. But it took my husband (then fiance) getting into a PhD program at UC Santa Barbara for me to realize that law school really wasn't for me. I worked as a technical writer for a software company for almost three years after college, but it really was only to pay the bills. My true passion has always been planning weddings for other people and writing for myself. As of December, 2012, I quit that full time job so that I could focus all of my time on my clients and my blog. It's been a crazy ride, but it's been fun!
My husband, Robert, and I are high school sweethearts, and have been together for nine years. We went to the same college, and he proposed to me the winter of my senior year. We married in our home town in July of 2010, and we've been going strong ever since! But don't worry...I'm not one of those "I love my husband more than anyone else loves their husbands and I'm going to tell you every chance I get" kind of bloggers. We're happy, and I don't need to prove that to anyone else.
We also rescued a little Italian greyhound and chihuahua mix in June of 2011. Her name is Olive, and she is pretty much our child.
A few random things about me...
I love silly little quotes, Taylor Swift, red wine, and anything pink. I like dressing up and wearing high heels, just because. Kate Spade is my favorite designer, but I can never pass up a trip to Anthropologie. I'm also writing a book, and someday it'll be published.
Something Charming is my place to be inspired, and I want it to be a place for you to be inspired too. My life may not always be very interesting, but I'm always trying to make myself a better person, and to follow my dreams. I'm a constant work in progress, just like this little blog here, so I hope you'll stay a while and watch it all come together.
