How did you get into blogging?
I started blogging for the same reasons that a lot of people
start: I was moving away from home and getting married. I wanted a platform
where I could share my decorating and wedding planning adventures. That was in
the spring of 2010, and since then, it’s evolved into not only a hobby, but an
extension of my business.
How did you get into wedding planning?
Again, I got into wedding
planning for a lot of the same reasons that other planners get into it: I
planned my own wedding. This was before I even knew about all of the amazing
wedding blogs and resources out there, however, so I’ve spent the time since then
(I got married in July of 2010) learning everything I can about what it means
to really plan and style a wedding for someone else. I love wedding design, and
I could spend hours just looking at pretty wedding pictures, so this is
basically my dream job. You can read more about me and my company on my website and in this post.
Also, I have a newsletter for those interested in more information about what it's like being a wedding planner, as well as tips and advice I've learned along the way. You can subscribe here. Note that I don't send it out as often as I'd like...I'm just too busy actually running my business sometimes!

What type of social media do you
use?
You can pretty much always find me on Twitter. Twitter is definitely my
favorite form of social media, and if you want to really get to know me and
interact with me, you should really follow me there so we can chat! I just find
Twitter a lot more interactive than Facebook, or any other type of social media
really, and I spend the majority of my allotted social media time (which is
basically all the time), on that platform.
I am on Facebook under my
business’s name, A Charming
Occasion. I use one page for both my blog and my business, since I don’t
have the time or resources to keep up with two pages. If you like me on
Facebook, you’ll get a lot more wedding inspiration and articles, though I do
promote my blog on there as well.
What type of editing program do
you use for your collages?
I wish I could tell of you some
fun and exciting new (free) product, but the truth is…it’s just Photoshop! I’ve
never used another type of editing software before, but I’ve heard that
Paint.NET is great (and free).
What is that beautiful font you use in your header?
It's called Jacques and Gilles and you can buy it here!
Did you draw the illustrations you use on your blog?
I did not. I purchased them from the Ink Nest.
I can't comment on your blog! How do I fix it?
I use a commenting system called Disqus, which I find much more engaging and intuitive. You can log into Disqus using your log in information from a variety of other systems, including Twitter, Facebook, or Google+. If you use Internet Explorer, you may find yourself unable to comment using Disqus, but there is an easy solution for this! All you need to do is disable Compatibility View, which you see how to do here. A better way to fix the problem, however, is to just get a new browser (IE is not a very good browser to use on a regular basis). I personally LOVE Chrome, and won't be going back to any other browser!
